THE HENRY FAMILY
This is our Pastor and his family! The Henry Family joined our church in October 2019. Chris and Beverly have been a part of church ministry for a combined 50 years, serving in many roles since they were both teenagers.

They both felt the unmistakable call to pursue full-time pastoral ministry in 2018. After seeking direction from God for a year, they were led to serve as Lead Pastors at Hope Tree Church. Their children, Melody, Liam, and Trinity all serve in ministry roles with us!

CHRIS HENRY - Lead Pastor
Pastor Chris joined our church in October of 2019. He spent 33 years ministering (from 11 years old) in the church where his father was lead pastor, serving in the worship team and as worship pastor, youth pastor, and Christian Education director. He is passionate about helping others build a relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, because it's easy to receive from someone you know and love.

Chris is an Ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He received his education through Berean School of the Bible at Global University, as well as earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from CSU-Stanislaus.

Pastor Chris also had a 20 year career in Health Care, focusing on Business Development. Today, Chris brings all these experiences and now uses them to further God's Kingdom, including authoring the book, "The 8th Church: The Shining Church of California."
BEVERLY HENRY - Children's Pastor
Beverly Henry joined Hope Tree Church with Pastor Chris in October 2019. She has worked in Children's Ministries, Sunday School classes, and directed Vacation Bible Schools since she was a teenager, always having a passion to bring the story of Jesus to the little ones in our church and community. Beverly is an elementary school teacher in the area, having a degree in Education. She has authored several lessons published by VBS media companies, and has years of experience in child development.

Beverly is also an advocate of Organic products. She has struggled with severe skin allergies and Celiac disease most of her life. These illnesses have led her to help those around her who have similar issues.
MISSION 25
When I arrived in 2019, I came with a 30-page, 5-year plan for the church. I didn't want to simply show up and "just preach and teach." There's so much more to building the Kingdom of God here on Earth. With lots of long hours, working smart, and the help of the people God sent my way, all but one item from that list was fulfilled. And we have seen God move in our church because of it.

Now that my family is entering the second 5-year span here at Hope Tree Church, I prayed for the Lord to give me a new vision and new plan for the future. Because it's my 2nd 5-year plan, and because it begins in 2025, and because there are 25 items on the new list, it's aptly named "Mission 25". Unlike Mission: Impossible, we know the Holy Spirit will make it possible, and we also know the mission is not a secret mission. So, here it is for you to see, for you to be moved by God to join the cause, and for you to prayerfully take part in the Mission and the expansion of the Kingdom of God.
1. Primary Vision
-
Our mission is for people to Find Jesus, Find Family, and Find Hope. Hope Tree Church is and will be a Location of Salvation. We will accomplish this by focusing on our ministries to children and teensto strengthen the family, develop women’s Bible studies where they will be discipled to be “women of the River” (Acts 16:13), create service opportunities so that we can encourage men to serve and be involved, and we wish to grow and invest in our retired congregants through Bible Study and volunteer opportunities.
-
We will develop a spirit of generosity and stewardship, showing how a life of giving generously leads to blessing beyond what we can believe.
-
Pastor will preach a series annually on the Holy Spirit, looking for the empowerment promised by Jesus to us for the purpose of evangelization.
-
We will serve our community through our food/clothing ministry, as well as being a part of city/community events.
-
Bible literacy must increase through Bible Studies.
-
The kingdom is a corporation. It’s not just about getting in – it’s about working together in it and reaping the blessings and benefits of that work.

We want a business that can be a place outside the church to reach people with Jesus while at the same time providing a stream of income to other ministries (i.e. Missions)
12. Develop Discipleship Groups
-
2025 Fall - Valor Discipleship Study.
-
Start with 9-month course on Wednesdays that starts with a large group and breaks up into smaller groups.
-
We really need go-getters to emerge who can be mentors and Bible Study leaders. People who are sound in doctrine and can be trusted outside of the church walls.

13. Develop a Growing Financial/Giving Base to Create Margin in our Fiscal Budget and Be Able to Respond Quickly to New Opportunities
-
Our Vision and Mission is what we are giving towards.
-
We must create margin in our budget for growth and emergencies.

We must create margin so we can respond quickly to new opportunities that the Lord brings our way.

Foyer and Sanctuary expansion. (as growth demands; cost will be near $800k)
-
If we see growth at a fast level, a new building will be required. Fundraising will need to begin for this project.
19. Focus more Teaching on the "Basics of Christianity" & "Living with the Holy Spirit"
-
Per national surveys, many Christians don’t know or believe that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. We must teach to that point and lead to true Belief and Salvation in Jesus Christ.
-
Each Summer should have a focus on the Holy Spirit and being baptized in His power for the purpose of boldness in our witness.
-
Have a year of reading through the Bible in near future.
20. Develop Young Adults/20-Something Group

A critical need! Many people graduate with nowhere to go and no family to be a part of. We must address this.
